Pilates is very closely based upon the method of body conditioning and training developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s.
The exercise method, relies on strengthening core postural muscles and works by building strength from inside out, to rebalance the body. It aims to reshape your body, making it longer, leaner and more toned and helps to prevent the muscle and ligament damage, sometimes associated with other fitness regimes. Specific problem-areas can be targeted by an exercise, but always in relation to the rest of one’s body.
Its success rate as a method has brought it to the attention of osteopaths, chiropractors, physiotherapists and doctors.
Alexander Evans (director of VoiceGym).
As a qualified Body Control Pilates instructor and CHEK coach, Alexander has coached leading west end stars, opera singers and international recording artists, including Shania Twain in preparation for her residency at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas.
He collaborated with Angela Caine for 18yrs studying the effects of dentistry and structural misalignment in performance and has taught and developed VoiceGym and Early VoiceGym here in the UK. He is also a founder of the Dynamic Smile team in Hungary, where he teaches regularly.
Drawing upon his knowledge of the voice and teaching experience through VoiceGym, he applies this to his teaching of Pilates... and considers his method of Pilates as 'Voice friendly or singer friendly.'

He is available for one to one sessions along with larger groups, and will design lessons specifically around the clients needs and goals....
