MASSAGE THERAPY
Alexander is an fully qualified ITEC and insured massage therapist, he is offering seven forms of massage at the moment from either the Greenwich Market Studios (Greenwich, London) or home / office visits, London or Edinburgh area (parking availability preferred, please note visits within the London congestion zone, there is a £10 add on to massage fee):
Swedish massage:
A traditional and the most common and best known massage working on the soft tissues of the body to help relax and restore balance and health.
Lomi Lomi massage:
(Hawaiian temple style massage), a unique hot oil-based massage, which incorporates fluid rhythmic strokes from the forearm and elbow to apply a soft and if required deeper tissue massage. The flow of this massage and use of oil means Lomi-Lomi is traditionally received without any clothing. Your modesty is protected throughout the treatment, sarongs (and or disposable thong also provided).
Lava Shell:
Lava shell massage is greatly enjoyable for anyone with tense muscles, as the heat from the Lava Shell will gently relax and smooth away knots. The Lava Shell owe their magic to a mix of minerals including dried sea kelp, dead seasalt, algae and essential oils. The heated shells also give off calcium ions, which transfers to your skin during the massage. Calcium can help to firm and regenerate the skin - a nice bonus.
Deep Tissue:
This massage technique focuses on deeper layers of muscles, tendons and fascia (connective tissue). It releases chronic muscle tension and muscle fibres whilst relaxing and soothing the muscles of the body. Deep tissue massage is therapeutic, and corrective. This massage can be full body or focused on specific muscle groups.
Salt Scrub and Massage:
An exfoliating salt scrub removes dead skin cells which can otherwise become hard. If left untreated, dead cells make the skin stiff and crusty. Exfoliation removes dry, flaky, dead skin and reveals the supple soft skin beneath. The pores are also left unclogged of dirt and bacteria that can build up over time. Salt has anti-bacterial qualities, so it’s helpful for maintaining bacteria-free skin and preventing itchiness. The same abrasive friction between the salt and skin which causes exfoliation, also encourages the circulation of blood. Appointment time 1hr 30.
Seated Chair Acupressure Massage:
This 30 minute seated acupressure massage is performed in a special, ergonomically designed, comfortable chair. Performed through clothing and works on the main stress bearing areas of the upper body. This treatment mobilises your upper body and leaves you feeling refreshed, energised and revitalised. It is ideal for those that have very physical work and those who sit for extended periods of time either at a desk or in a vehicle.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage
A powerful and cleansing therapy, to relax ad relieve pain and immunological effects. It's primarily used to promote the optimal function of the lymphatic vessels that lead to the circulatory system. In it's manual form it is an extremely gentle, flowing and rhythmic massage to promote the removal of metabolic waste, excess water, toxins and bacteria. For fees etc... please ask upon enquiry.
